Well kept borders are the icing on the cake for gardens. Plant knowledge is essential to keep your borders looking their best. Perennials cut down at the right time or seedlings of perennials being identified as such and not hoed out as weeds can be the difference between a great looking border and an average one.
PLANT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Over thirty years of experience looking after some pretty spectacular borders at some very big private estates can be put to use in your garden.
ANNUAL BORDERS/BEDDING PLANTS
We do not supply or maintain annual plants. (I used to have a hanging basket and plant display rental business and fully understand the requirements of this type of service) We will happily plant any annuals that you supply but will not be responsible for their care thereafter. Annual plants require daily maintenance and this is not something that we can supply at the moment.
Key activities that benefit your borders
Regular weeding to rid your borders of both annual and perennial weeds
Working the soil surface regularly to maintain a fine tilth
Cutting back excessive growth to ensure each plant is shown to it’s full effect
Cutting back finished herbaceous perennials at the appropriate time of year
Applying a layer of compost/mulch in the winter
